The developers of Bitcoin Gold announced the successful implementation of the hard fork, designed to make the mining of cryptocurrencies on ASIC-miners impossible.
On July 3, Bitcoin Gold began to work on the new PoW algorithm, Equihash-BTG, which does not allow the mining of cryptocurrencies on ASIC-miners. Thus, the network intends to withstand the centralization and concentration of computing power in the hands of large mining pools.
According to the developers, the new algorithm includes personalization, which makes it difficult to redirect the processing power through the “hash market”.
The new protocol also includes an improved complexity adjustment algorithm, making the Bitcoin Gold more susceptible to changes in hash power. This allows you to quickly stabilize the production time of a new unit after the hash power has changed.
Mining pools and individual miners, as well as wallets and crypto-exchanges have already updated their software to work on the new algorithm.
