Ex-CEO of the discontinued bitcoin-exchange Mt. Gox Mark Carpels has called on the federal judge of Illinois to reject the lawsuit filed against him by former clients. According to Carpels, the American court has no jurisdiction to deal with this case, while he himself is in Japan.

In an official petition filed on August 24, Carpelsa was told to federal judge Gary Finerman that their client did not have enough connections with Illinois and never conducted business in that state. Consequently, the charges against him for fraud are groundless.

Loss of investors Mt. Gox are valued at 850,000 BTC. At that time, this amount was about $480 million.

Last week on the site Mt. Gox launched a tool through which users can apply for refunds held on the purses of the company.
