New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) has approved addition of four new cryptocurrencies to itBit exchange. It will now offer trading services for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Stellar Lumen (XLM).
In 2015 itBit became the first officially regulated Bitcoin exchange in the USA. In 2016 the company was rebranded and changed its name to Paxos. However, itBit continued to function on the exchange market.
NYDFS has also announced that Switzerland-based Bitcoin-wallet provider Xapo was licensed to carry out its activities in New York (BitLicense). Xapo is the sixth company that has BitLicense. The other five are Genesis Global Trading, bitFlyer, Coinbase, Ripple, and Circle.
