The National Police Agency of Japan will start using new software to track cryptocurrency transactions.
According to law enforcers, specialized software will help in the investigation of various cases related to illegal financial transactions using cryptocurrency. For example, the software will be able to flag transactions as suspicious, as well as determine the senders and recipients of funds.
To develop an unnamed new software company, the Agency will allocate 35 million yen ( 315,000). In total, to counteract cybercrime, the agency provided funds for 2.7 billion yen (approximately $24 million).
