The world-famous economist Jeffrey Tucker believes that governments and central banks should refrain from creating “national cryptocurrencies”.

Tucker expressed this opinion in an article for the American Institute of Economic Research (AEIR), where he warned that the main idea of a decentralized digital currency will be threatened if the government takes control of it.

Instead of interfering with the cryptocurrency market, according to the economist, governments should do more to improve the fiat and the banking system.

It is the government monopoly, in Tucker’s opinion, that has repeatedly led to financial crises, inflation, state and world wars in the last century, and is also the main cause of poverty in the world.
