Tagansky Court of Moscow ordered to block Telegram in Russia on the suit of Roskomnadzor, which demanded to block the messenger in Russia for refusing to give the national secret services the keys to decrypt users’ messages.

The court ordered Roskomnadzor (The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) to take measures to restrict access to Telegram in Russia. The ban can be bypassed using VPN or proxy.

Earlier, the founder of Telegram Pavel Durov forbade his lawyers to participate in this process. “We are not ready to legitimize this farce by participating. We asked the head of Telegram about our participation in tomorrow’s trial. He said that we should not take part, in it”, the representatives of the messenger said.
