A WeChat messenger, developed by the Chinese technological giant Tencent, has blocked media accounts connected with blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Among the affected WeChat accounts – Jinse, supported by Node Capital, and Deepchain, which developed several cryptocurrency funds at once. When you switch to these accounts, you receive a message stating that they are blocked “due to user complaints.” Also, it is written that “the content is not allowed to show,” and the account itself is locked. A similar message appears when switching to Huobi News and CoinDaily accounts.
The reason for blocking WeChat accounts is still unknown. However, this could have happened because of the August 7 Administration of cyberspace PRC “Provisional regulations for the development and management of public information services for instant messaging tools.”
